Week 11 Story: Spotted Dresses

 Spotted Dresses

One morning, Coyote stumbled across a red and white farmhouse next to a very beautiful mountain. He pulled his binoculars out to get a closer look at the house, and he saw that the house was occupied by a Mexican family and they had a dog. The dog looked very rough. Its fur was patchy, it had no teeth, and it was covered in fleas. This made coyote very angry because the dog was a long lost relative of his. So, Coyote waited until the family had gone back inside their farmhouse and walked down the driveway to go talk to the dog.

When Coyote approached the Dog, he noticed that the dog was very dehydrated and hungry, so he thought of a plan to get the family to feed and water the dog. Coyote said, “Hey Dog, I’m gonna steal one of those chickens from the chicken coop, then I will meet you behind the mountain and give you the chicken back. When you return, your family will love you. They will give you so much food and water that you will never be hungry or thirsty again!”

Dog smiled and agreed with the Coyote’s plan. Before Coyote started his plan, he noticed that Dog had a barrel around his neck. He asked Dog what was inside of the barrel, and the Dog replied, “Whiskey.”

Hearing this, Coyote got very excited and wanted a drink. So, after some persuasion, Dog finally gave Coyote a drink. Then, Dog decided to take a drink. Soon, they had finished the barrel of whiskey and were DRUNK.

Coyote and Dog, both intoxicated, decided to go ahead with the plan. While Coyote was thinking about how tricky his plan was, it made Coyote start to laugh. He could not stop laughing! His high-pitched laugh started echoing off the canyon walls.

Soon after, the family heard Coyote’s laugh and ran outside to find him. They saw Dog and Coyote laughing together, so Dog’s owners smacked the dog and Coyote. They smacked Coyote so hard that he threw up all over the dresses that were hanging on the clothes line, and they became spotted. After that, Coyote broke Dog’s chain and they ran off past the mountain. They are still friends today.

That is why dresses for Mexican girls are spotted still to this day.

Author’s Note: I based my story off of “The Coyote and the Mexicans”. I changed up the story by eliminating the first part of the story in which Coyote transforms into a girl in order to convince a judge to sleep with him. Also, I combined the Coyote’s attempts to get the family to treat Dog better. I ended up using the same story of why dresses of Mexican girls are spotted. I combined the tricks of the Coyote stealing the chicken and the Coyote getting drunk as well.

  1. Hi Levi!
I like to read your story, and I think this is the second time that I put comments to you. I feel happy when I found that the Coyote and dog could finally be friends. I always enjoy such good ending for different stories, did you?

  2. Hey Levi! Your story is pretty funny! I was not expecting for them to get absolutely drunk. I am happy that coyote was still able to get dog out of there, even though he definitely could not carry out his plan. I wonder if the family decided that they just hated all dogs after that. That'd be unfortunate, but just might happen.
