The Lady: She was not a mean lady, nor a lady who meant to be disrespectful. She worked and worked and. One day forgot to give reverence to Mother Friday. She worked through the day spinning flax. Once the lady had fallen asleep, Mother Friday appeared in a rage and stuffed the woman’s eyes full of dust, so that she couldn’t see. The woman was very frightened since she had lost her sight, so she promised Mother Friday that she wouldn’t never disrespect her again.
Mother Friday: Meant to be very respected, she demanded respect and reverence from everyone, or she would appear in a rage and do bad things to those who denied her. She appeared after the lady who spun flax did not show reverence, and stuffed her eyes full of dust, making her blind. She then fixed the lady’s eyes after she apologized.
