Reading Notes: Chinese Fairy Tales Part B

 The Little Hunting Dog

The Scholar: Lived in a Buddhist temple because he didn’t like the company of other people. The bad part was, his room was filled with gnats, fleas and vermin. He could not stand them, and he was annoyed constantly because of their annoying nature.

The Guards: Wore great helmets with plumes on their heads. They were very tiny, about two inches tall, and they rode horses the size of grasshoppers. The had hunting falcons and dogs which ate all of the gnats, fleas and vermin.

The Dog: The Scholar’s best companion. He loved the dog because it kept him company, and kept his room rid of the vermin.

The Plot: I really liked the plot of the story because I’m a big fan of dogs. I didn’t like how the dog dies at the end, though!

Hollywood Cast: The Scholar: Jim Carrey, The Guards: Mike Myers, Norm MacDonald, The Dog: Zach Galifianakis
