Reading Notes: Fables of La Fontaine Part A

 Foolish Animals:

The Hare and The Tortoise:

The Hare: The Hare was very arrogant about racing the tortoise. He wasted time and goofed around for so long that when he tried to go win the race, he saw that the tortoise had beaten him!

The Tortoise: He was very humble and stayed consistent throughout the race and never gave up. Since he was determined to win, he beat the Hare!

The Ass In the Lion’s Skin:

The Ass: walked around scaring everyone in sight. He was actually afraid of himself! People who didn’t get the joke, didn’t realize there was a donkey underneath the skin!

The Frog and the Ox:

The Frog: He was self conscious because he thought that he wasn’t big enough. One day he saw an ox at the bog. He decided he wanted to be that big, so he puffed himself up so big that he eventually popped into many pieces!
